Shivabalayogi’s only verbal teaching was to encourage people to meditate in order to understand the truth for themselves. For three decades, Shivabalayogi traveled extensively throughout India and Sri Lanka, then from 1987 to 1991 he toured England and the United States. Everywhere he conducted public programs where millions received initiation into meditation.

Q: What is meditation and why is it so beneficial?

Swamiji: “Meditation is to control your mind. Through meditation you can get peace of mind. Your blood pressure comes down so health improves. Whatever you do in life gets done better. You come to know your own mind. Through such understanding, everyone can function and work well together.”
